Always, Service With a Smile

CAMBRIDGE, ONTARIO - Waiting tables can be a difficult job at times, requiring attention to detail, a great memory, a gracious nature and lots of energy. For server Jennifer Sukhaseum of the Holiday Inn Cambridge, none of this has ever been a hardship. "I just love people", says Jenn of her work, "it feels great to be able to make a difference to someone’s day". It is exactly this kind of attitude that recently earned Jenn Cambridge Tourism’s Hospitality Hero Award for August.
Cambridge Tourism Hospitality Hero - August 2005
More than one nominator made reference to Jenn’s friendly nature and "extremely polite and efficient service." She has also been commended for handling her junior customers with the same professionalism and good humour as she does the grownups. "Jenn treated my children (and us parents) with respect", said one mom. "She was one of the best servers we’ve seen yet!" Another customer from Ohio noted that throughout his stay, Jenn was "a wonderfully helpful and cheery person" whose excellent service and hospitality contributed to a very pleasant business trip.

Jenn has made her mark at the hotel in only 4 months on the job. "Being friendly just comes naturally when you get to meet so many great visitors" she said. "I really like working with people and making them feel happy and welcome."

In recognition of her commitment to customer service, Cambridge Tourism presented Jenn with a Hospitality Hero plaque, gold lapel pin and a gift basket filled with contributions from Tourism Partner businesses.
