Customer Service "Takes Off" at Flight Centre

CAMBRIDGE, ONTARIO - On April 21st 2005, Esther Weber, an employee of Flight Centre in the Cambridge Centre, was surprised with the March 2005 Hospitality Hero Award. Her coworkers applauded as Cambridge Tourism staff presented her with the honour. Hospitality Hero for March 2005Weber has been with Flight Centre for just over two years and was nominated for going that extra mile to help a customer plan a cruise. The nominator said "Esther is a personality plus. She devotes as much time as her customers need to answer all questions, from the big ones to the ones that might be perceived as silly to others, but important to you as a client. She treats customers like they are the most important people in the world". The nominator was so happy with the service he received that he has become a repeat customer.

Weber said, "This is great. It’s not every day that you get recognized for doing something that is just a regular part of your job. Flight Centre prides itself on its customer service". She described the best part of her job as being able to work with and serve the public, and working alongside her great coworkers who share the same service oriented mindset.

Asked what customer service means to her, Weber replied "It’s making sure that your clients are happy and satisfied, even if it means going above and beyond your job duties. Whether it is a honeymoon, anniversary or a bereavement trip, you have to make sure your customer is satisfied".

In recognition of her commitment to customer service, Cambridge Tourism presented Weber with a Hospitality Hero plaque, gold lapel pin and a gift basket overflowing with contributions from Tourism Partner businesses.
