(Cambridge,
Ontario) On Tuesday, December 9th, 2003, Ryan Da Silva,
Assistant Manager at Stars Men’s
Shop, received the November Hospitality Hero Award
presented by Cambridge Tourism.
Everyone can relate to how stressful even
the simplest of tasks can be after the loss of the loved
one. Our nominator was in search of a new suit for his
father’s funeral and visitation, however he had been unable
to find anything in his size or to his liking at many other
shops. When he met Ryan at Stars Men's Shop, Ryan was
immediately able to find exactly what he was looking for.
Although they did not have his size available, Ryan made
arrangements to courier the appropriate size the very next
day. He also arranged for a tailor to come into the shop the
next morning to have his suit altered in time for the
funeral. When the tailor failed to show up, Ryan scrambled
to find a second tailor at the last minute to complete the
alterations. The customer was so pleased with the service he
received that he decided to purchase an additional pair of
trousers, which Ryan was also able to have altered for the
next morning. The nominator remarked, " The customer service
I received from Ryan at this very trying time in my life was
exceptional. I have never shopped in this store in the past,
but I will definitely shop here in the future. Thank-you for
your outstanding customer service".
When Ryan was presented with his award, he
commented, “We try to instill excellent customer service in
all of our staff. We even train our part-timers like that.
It’s an important part of ensuring repeat clientele.” Tracy
Leonard, Marketing Director at Cambridge Centre, added,
“Stars Men’s Shop has an excellent reputation for good
customer service among all of our other retailers”.
Cambridge Tourism presented Ryan at Stars
Men’s Shop with a gift basket overflowing with contributions
from our tourism partner businesses, a Hospitality Hero
plaque and a gold lapel pin to acknowledge his achievement.
