 (Cambridge, Ontario) On Wednesday, December 15, 2004, Pam Kwola, Room Attendant at the Holiday Inn Cambridge, received the November Hospitality Hero Award presented by Cambridge Tourism.
Pam is continually taking the time to go above and beyond in her duties to maintain a hotel experience where guests feel welcomed, comfortable and valued. Recently, Pam was cleaning one of the rooms when she noticed a picture of the guest’s wife propped up on a lamp. Upon discovering this, Pam decided to go out on her lunch break to purchase a beautiful wooden frame for the picture, paying for it out of her own pocket. She placed the picture in the frame and left it in the room to surprise the guest. She was nominated by her manager, Mary McGrath, who commented “Pam is known for going out of her way for many guests and is very deserving of the award”.
Pam has been adding a personal touch to her services since she started at the Holiday Inn Cambridge in 1996. “I always try to make my guests feel comfortable, happy and wanting to come back”, she explained. “I enjoy being friendly and giving guests extras or little notes. I am so surprised to receive this award. I really appreciate it!”
In recognition of her commitment to customer service, Cambridge Tourism presented Pam with a Hospitality Hero plaque, gold lapel pin and a gift basket overflowing with contributions from Tourism Partner businesses.
The Hospitality Hero Awards Program,
launched in October 2001, is designed to recognize individual
achievement in providing outstanding customer service and
hospitality to visitors to Cambridge and the surrounding
area. Awards are presented based on nominations received
from visitors and local area residents. Nomination forms
