TOUR GUIDE/TOURISM COUNSELLOR

Our organization requires friendly, energetic, dedicated and
knowledgeable individuals for the following part-time position.
Qualifications:
Candidates must be cheerful and enthusiastic team players. Superb
communication and public speaking skills are a must. Customer service skills and standard
computer knowledge are expected, as is an excellent knowledge of
Cambridge
and area. A valid driver’s license is mandatory. The ability to work a variety of shifts,
including days, weekends, holidays and evenings is essential. Successful
candidates will participate in a comprehensive orientation & training
program.
Tourism Counsellor/Tour Guide
This individual will be cross-trained to work as a Tour Guide at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada Ltd. (TMMC) delivering scripted tours and live presentations to large groups of people and a Front-line Tourism Counsellor assisting the traveling public at our Visitor and Information Centre on Hespeler Road.
DUTIES:
- Giving upbeat and knowledgeable tours at TMMC including
driving a motorized tram
- Candidates should possess the ability to memorize and present scripted
tours and live presentations to large groups of all ages
- Assisting with bookings and other administrative tasks as needed
- Representing Cambridge and area by assisting visitors with directions and information
- Maintaining and reporting on accurate visitor statistics and brochure inventories
- Assisting with mass mailings and packaging promotional kits
- Attending community events and business functions as required
- Maintaining the appearance of the Visitor Centre including dusting, light cleaning, tidying and organizing brochure racks etc.
- Lifting and carrying boxes of brochures and equipment
- Greeting and assisting Chamber of Commerce members and visitors
- Completing other special projects as required
