 (Cambridge, Ontario) On Thursday, April 3, 2003, Janice
Primeau, Manager of Regis Salon, Cambridge Centre Mall,
Cambridge, received the March Hospitality Hero Award
presented by Cambridge Tourism.
The nomination was received from a flustered customer
who rushed into the Regis Salon in a state of emotion after
having just left another salon almost in tears over her
hairstyle. Her idea of a glamorous hairstyle for a Gala
event turned into a Shirley Temple hair-curling nightmare.
The distressed customer was not only upset over her hair,
but she was also now running late for a prestigious Gala
event that evening. Her hair was a mess and she had one
hour to find a solution, drive home, get dressed and get
to her event.
When the customer ran into Regis Salon and explained her
dilemma, Janice Primeau totally understood the situation.
Janice stopped everything she was doing and within 30 minutes
had restyled her hair for half the price and in half the
time. “Janice’s act of kindness should be recognized
because I am sure other stylists would not have been so
kind and accommodating,” gushed the thankful customer.
“This was a total surprise! It’s nice to
be honoured in this way,” said Janice. “Customer
service is a major part of everything we do!”
Cambridge Tourism surprised Janice at her Regis Salon
with a gift basket overflowing with contributions from
our tourism partner businesses, a Hospitality Hero plaque
and a gold lapel pin to acknowledge her achievement.
The Hospitality Hero Awards Program, launched in October
2001, is designed to recognize individual achievement in
providing outstanding customer service and hospitality
to visitors to Cambridge and the surrounding area. Awards
are presented based on nominations received from visitors
and local area residents. Nomination forms are available
at over 280 Cambridge Tourism Partner businesses and at
Gateway - the Cambridge Visitor & Business Information
Centre. Nominations can also be submitted on the Cambridge
Tourism website www.cambridgetourism.com.
