Cambridge, Ontario, April 5, 2002
On Friday April 5, 2002 Cambridge Tourism presented Gail
O’Connor Guest Service Representative from the Comfort Inn,
Cambridge, with the March Hospitality Hero Award.
Gail has received numerous nominations since the program was
launched in October 2001, but it is her most recent nomination
that stands above the rest. Gail provided exceptional service
to a woman who was considering moving her family here from
Jamaica. Gail was noted as being “stupendous… and was helpful
above and beyond any reasonable bounds”. Consequently, the
woman who nominated her has moved to Cambridge and said “it
was because of Gail’s assistance, and subsequently the
fabulous people that I met…(that) I made the move to Canada.
Gail should be a poster person for the kind of citizen you
have and want to have in Cambridge…Gail is a treasure.”
Comfort Inn General Manager, Tracy Hann said, "Gail is a very
valuable member of our team who is continually going out of
her way to help both guests and staff. I regularly receive
glowing comments from our guests about (her) service and
caring attitude. If she is not bringing in homemade baking for
the staff, she is making holiday crafts to hand out to our
guests. In my mind, Gail is a Hospitality Hero each day she
comes in to work."
The Hospitality Hero Awards Program, launched in October
2001, was designed to recognize individual achievement in
providing outstanding customer service and hospitality to
visitors to Cambridge & the surrounding area. Awards are
presented based on nominations received from visitors and
local area residents. Nomination forms are available at over
250 Cambridge Tourism Partner businesses & at Gateway, the
Cambridge Visitor & Business Information Centre.
Nominations can also be submitted on the Cambridge Tourism
website
