Friday December 6, 2002 Cambridge Tourism presented the
12th Hospitality
Hero Award to owners Anne Pearson and Linda Collins of
HeartStrings Fine Giftware and Artful Décor, in
Cambridge.
The key to HeartStrings success as a small business is “going above and beyond on a regular basis” states Linda
Collins and it makes all the difference.
HeartStrings,
who recently celebrated their 10th anniversary,
is a unique shopping location in Cambridge. Many of their
customers are local residents although nominations for
the store have been received from visitors living as
far away as British Columbia and Australia. Since the
Hospitality Hero program was launched in October 2001,
HeartStrings has received many nominations, all raving
about their friendly and helpful staff. "Customer service is very important to
us,” Anne Pearson says “we hope that everyone that comes
into the store will be happy with our service . . . and tell
their friends” and that certainly seems to be the case. HeartStrings
provides that extra bit of service through recommending
purchases to custom gift-wrapping. One customer even goes as
far as to say, “I will not purchase a gift anywhere else!”

Hospitality Heroes.
The Hospitality Hero Awards Program, launched in October 2001,
was designed to recognize individual achievement in providing
outstanding customer service and hospitality to visitors to
