On Friday July 5, 2002 Cambridge Tourism presented Mr. & Mrs.
Norm & Marg Warren, Owners of Roses & Blessings Bed &
Breakfast with the June Hospitality Hero Award.
Situated on a quiet Crescent in Kitchener, Roses & Blessings
Bed & Breakfast is an oasis for travellers from all over the
world. Nominations for Norm & Marg, Hosts of Roses & Blessings
B&B since 1997, have come in from as far away as the
Netherlands, Germany, British Columbia and New Brunswick.
Visitors are continually amazed by the service and hospitality
that Norm & Marg extend and have said that upon arrival they
have “immediately found themselves as part of the family”.
The quaint rooms, decorated with wrought-iron beds and lace,
look out onto a garden full of roses. Guests also enjoy
morning coffee served to their rooms, breakfasts that are “out
of this world” - consisting of fresh fruit, soufflés & egg
burritos, never the traditional bacon & eggs - and upon
leaving to explore the area for the day, guests are given a
snack to take with them. Other extras include a personalized
card thanking guests for their company and a rose. Marg & Norm
freely admit that they aren’t “in it for the money” but
instead for the joy that lies in meeting people and providing
their home as a comfortable place for travellers to stay.
The Hospitality Hero Awards Program, launched in October 2001,
was designed to recognize individual achievement in providing
outstanding customer service and hospitality to visitors to
Cambridge & the surrounding area. Awards are presented based
on nominations received from visitors and local area
residents. Nomination forms are available at over 250
Cambridge Tourism Partner businesses & at Gateway, the
Cambridge Visitor & Business Information Centre.
