Who we are and what we do

Who we are...
Cambridge Tourism is a destination marketing organization that functions as a partnership between the public and private sectors. The City of Cambridge provides core funding to support the infrastructure and administration while the private sector provides membership fees to invest in advertising and co-op marketing efforts. Together --- we work to promote our area as a viable travel destination.

The Cambridge Tourism team consists of knowledgeable and professional staff dedicated to the effective delivery of visitor services and marketing programs. We are served by our Board of Directors comprised of representation from the local community. Our Board ensures that Cambridge Tourism is developing and offering programs required by the local hospitality industry.

What we do...
Cambridge Tourism promotes our area through the following efforts:
Development of effective brochures, advertising and support materials for the group tour, convention and leisure markets.

  • Display and distribution of partner brochures through office and kiosk locations.

  • Referrals sent to partner businesses and organizations through telephone, Internet and walk-in inquiries.

  • Attendance at industry trade shows and marketplaces throughout the U.S. and Canada.

  • Representation through regional tourism related associations and joint ventures.

  • Media exposure through press releases, editorials, travel writers and tourism listings.

  • Hosting familiarization trips and site inspections for influential group and event planners.

  • Working with partners, committees and stakeholders to develop strategies to enhance and grow the local tourism industry.
